    Comments, Additional Information, References

This house at 5102 Route 89, Varick, is called "The Inn at Varick Winery". It has been heavily, but tastefully, altered. First the large Italianate brackets were added in the 1870s to make it look more modern with the many Italianate houses going up. Then much later, a highly compatible Classic Revival front portico overlooking Cayuga Lake and a large side port came between 1910 and 1920. Julius Bull is said to have built this house in 1833.
